Brit-Pol continues to grow

156 Krone vehicles are currently being delivered

The British transport company Brit-Pol is currently expanding its fleet by 156 Krone units, which will be delivered successively until mid-July. With this, the family-owned company wants to realise further transport tasks in the Benelux and Europe. The rapidly expanding company, founded around ten years ago, delivers car parts and general cargo within Great Britain and the Benelux countries. Now, says Adam Zegocki, Director Operations, the new vehicles are to be used to quickly establish a pan-European transport network. "Flexibility is the key to our growth plan," he explains. "Thanks to the specification of the new Krone vehicles we will be able to set up our loading capacity for a wider range of customers. For example, the Box Liner container chassis are designed to transport 20, 30, 40 and 45 ft. containers, two boxes at a time or one standard size container. In combination with the Twist Lock quick-release fasteners, we can handle the containers quickly and easily".

The new curtain siders are equipped as standard with Krone's MultiLock outer frame, which has around 130 lashing holes on each side of the vehicle; this means that practically any load can be securely fastened anywhere on the loading area. All trailers are equipped with sliding roofs. In addition, the Mega Liner with an internal height of 3 m is equipped with a hydraulic lifting roof, which provides up to 50 cm additional space when loading oversized cargo. The tarpaulins with integrated steel strips as well as the steel container doors with the concealed underneath door locks also ensure the best possible safety. The 30 mm thick, completely sealed floor complies with EN 283 for floor loads up to max. 7,000 kg Forklift axle load.

In total, almost 40 Box Liner container chassis, 60 Profi Liners and 60 Mega Liners will be added to the fleet. All vehicles are equipped with Krone axles, for which Krone provides a six-year guarantee for unlimited mileage. Some of the vehicles are operated by TIP Trailer Services UK. "We want to work with the best, so TIP, as the true European market leader, was the obvious choice", explains Adam Zegocki. "Good vehicles and high availability in the UK and Europe enable us to offer flexible supply chain solutions to our customers". In addition, Zegocki explains that TIP, whose global fleet comprises 125,000 trailers and 8,000 towing units, has developed a tailor-made financing solution for 26 vehicles and distributed them among several financing partners in order to achieve an "optimum leasing agreement for 3 to 5 years".

"Krone has given us the best technical, operational and financial advice we could wish for and also offers an exemplary vehicle quality that meets our needs and those of our customers. As we expand our activities further into Europe, it is good to know that we have Krone's expertise and TIP's backup service. If we need help, we can simply use the Service Locator to enter the location of the vehicle and a selection of Krone partner garages will be displayed," praises Zegocki.

From its headquarters in Killingholme, Brit-Pol will operate the expanded fleet, which will then comprise 175 trailers and almost 90 towing units (including Scania, Volvo, MAN and DAF) - under the watchful eye of Webfleet Solutions' vehicle tracking service. According to Zegocki, the system provides full vehicle tracking and telematic monitoring of key vehicle functions - including brake wear and tyre pressure. Read more:
