With the all-aluminium ‘Performance’ walking floor, Schwarzmüller is showcasing a transport solution at IAA Transportation 2026 that is consistently designed for payload, cost-effectiveness and intelligent lightweight construction. The vehicle will be on display in the outdoor area of the Krone Commercial Vehicle Group’s joint exhibition stand and is aimed in particular at operators in the bulk goods, recycling and agricultural sectors.
The walking floor is one of the most versatile transport solutions on the market. With the Performance walking floor, Schwarzmüller aims to combine this versatility with a well-thought-out lightweight construction concept, which has been deliberately implemented without compromising on stability and durability. At the heart of the vehicle is a newly developed frame made entirely of aluminium, which combines high stability with a low kerb weight. As a result, transport companies benefit from a higher payload and improved cost-effectiveness in day-to-day operation.
Greater flexibility for a variety of transport tasks
Equipped with a hydraulically adjustable Cargo-Floor walking floor featuring 21 floor profiles, the vehicle enables the rapid and controlled loading and unloading of a wide variety of bulk goods. A sliding partition with an integrated tarpaulin further expands the range of applications and allows for both partial and complete unloading.
“Our walking floor vehicles stand out thanks to a well-thought-out premium design that meets the transport requirements of the future. The combination of lightweight construction, robustness and practicality makes them high-performance commercial vehicles with a wide range of applications across various industries,” explains Adem Suljic, product expert at Schwarzmüller.
Designed for daily use
“In addition to high transport capacity, the development process focused above all on practicality. For example, a multifunctional radio remote control enables the operation not only of the walking floor but also of the lighting and the axle lift. The swing-out crossbar can also be operated conveniently and safely from the ground, making day-to-day handling considerably easier,” Suljic continues.
The chassis is also designed for demanding operating conditions. High-quality axles from SAF or BPW with reinforced axle bodies, together with the RSS stability programme, ensure driving safety and reliability. Additional features such as a pneumatic floor protection tarpaulin, a tyre pressure monitoring system or the SmartBoard support cost-effective fleet operation.
With an unladen weight from 6.9 tonnes, an internal length of approximately 13.50 metres and an internal width of 2.47 metres, the Performance walking floor offers ideal conditions for a wide variety of transport tasks. Further features such as the QuickTOP electric canopy, cleaning door, grain chute and practical access aids round off the overall concept.
