Schwarzmüller presents aluminium tank semi-trailers at the IAA 2026
Fuels are among the invisible driving forces behind the economy. They supply construction sites, petrol stations, industrial plants and logistics centres, ensuring that mobility and the flow of goods continue to function. Specialised transport solutions are required to guarantee this supply reliably. At IAA Transportation 2026, Schwarzmüller is therefore presenting a modern aluminium tank semi-trailer for the safe and efficient transport of fuels.
The vehicle forms part of the joint exhibition stand of the KRONE Commercial Vehicle Group and ties in with this year’s theme, “Built as one”. The stand concept illustrates the various stages of a closed economic cycle and highlights how a wide variety of transport solutions interlock. The tank semi-trailer represents an area that often operates behind the scenes but is indispensable to the functioning of modern supply chains: the reliable supply of energy.
The 3-axle aluminium tank semi-trailer on display was developed for the transport of petrol, diesel and heating oil. With a tank capacity of around 43,500 litres and a five-compartment design, the vehicle offers the necessary flexibility to transport different products economically and safely. At the same time, the well-engineered aluminium construction offers a favourable ratio of kerb weight to payload, whilst the innovative tank geometry enables rapid and virtually complete draining. This creates genuine added value for customers.
In addition to transport performance, the development focused primarily on safety and ease of use. The vehicle features an electronic dipstick measuring system, state-of-the-art monitoring technology and equipment for bottom-loading processes. The concept is complemented by tyre pressure monitoring, axle load display and telematics functions, which support day-to-day operations and provide additional transparency.
“The transport of fuels places special demands on the vehicle, its technology and its operation. Our tank semi-trailers combine high efficiency with practical, customer-specific equipment for everyday use. In this way, we create solutions that both operators and drivers can rely on,” explains Matthias Paletar, tanker expert at the Schwarzmüller Group.
Technically, too, the vehicle relies on high-quality components. SAF axles, modern braking systems and numerous safety and driver-assistance functions ensure reliable operation in the demanding field of hazardous goods transport.
In keeping with the trade fair motto “Built as one”, the theme of fuel logistics will be visible not only in the outdoor exhibition area. At the KRONE Commercial Vehicle Group’s indoor stand, the Fuel Lounge invites visitors to linger. Modelled on a classic petrol station, this meeting space combines information and discussion in a relaxed atmosphere.
