Skid-Carrier

Hüffermann is exhibiting at IAA Transportation 2026 for the first time as part of the KRONE Commercial Vehicle Group’s joint exhibition stand. Under the motto ‘Built as one’, the company is demonstrating how modern transport solutions make a significant contribution to functioning material cycles, from collection and transport right through to the recovery of recyclable materials.

In keeping with the stand concept, which illustrates the various stages of a closed-loop economy, Hüffermann is exhibiting two vehicle solutions in the outdoor area that have been an integral part of waste disposal and recycling logistics for many years: the Skid-Carrierr and the Mini-Carrier. Both vehicles exemplify the role that specialised transport technology plays in a modern circular economy.

When waste becomes recyclable material again

Whether containers are at recycling centres, construction sites, recycling plants or local collection points, a wide variety of containers must be moved safely, flexibly and cost-effectively every day. Hüffermann has been developing specialised transport solutions for precisely this purpose for decades.

“Our Skid-Carrier was designed for the transport of roll-off containers and combines high robustness with efficient handling in day-to-day use. Thanks to its flexible design, it can accommodate different container sizes and is therefore well-suited to the diverse requirements of waste management companies and local authority operations,” explains Rainer Lange, product expert at Hüffermann.

The Skid-Carrier on display is designed for roll-off containers in accordance with DIN 30722-1, as well as for roll-off compactors and special containers, and accommodates swap bodies with internal lengths of approximately 5,000 to 7,000 mm. The pneumatic low-pressure locking mechanism with four claws ensures that containers are securely held in place during daily use.

The display is complemented by the compact Mini-Carrier, which has been specially developed for the transport of skip containers. The Mini-Carrier is designed for skip containers in accordance with DIN 30720, as well as skip containers and mini-containers, and, with its compact frame length of approx. 4,000 mm, offers a practical solution for containers up to 20 m³. Thanks to its pre-fitted Safetyfix and chainless Multifix load-securing systems, it is particularly well-suited to flexible applications in waste management logistics. Its design makes it particularly attractive for inner-city operations (front loading possible), recycling centres and municipal applications where manoeuvrability and flexibility are essential. At the same time, the vehicle allows for a variety of securing and loading concepts, thereby supporting a wide range of operational scenarios within waste management logistics.

Working together throughout the cycle

The joint exhibition stand with KRONE , Schwarzmüller, Knapen and Gigant highlights how the individual companies’ areas of expertise within the group complement one another. Whilst other vehicles transport raw materials, building materials or consumer goods, Hüffermann’s solutions form a key component at the end of the cycle – where materials are collected, sorted and returned to the economic cycle.

“A circular economy can only function with reliable transport solutions. Our vehicles ensure that containers and recyclable materials can be moved safely and efficiently. At the IAA, we’re demonstrating how this part of the process chain fits into the bigger picture of sustainable logistics,” Lange continues.

IAA Transportation 2026 thus offers not only the opportunity to get to know both vehicles up close, but also to take a fresh look at the role of waste management logistics within the broader context of modern transport and material cycles. Together with the other brands of the KRONE Commercial Vehicle Group, Hüffermann demonstrates how a wide variety of transport tasks are interconnected along a closed-loop cycle. True to the motto “Built as one”.
