When heavy loads need to be moved

In the modern economy, there are transport operations that require specialised solutions. Whether construction machinery is being transported to a building site, recycling plants are being expanded, or heavy components for infrastructure projects need to be moved, the work begins where conventional transport concepts reach their limits.

It is precisely for these tasks that Schwarzmüller is presenting its low-loader semi-trailer at IAA Transportation 2026, in the outdoor area of the KRONE Commercial Vehicle Group’s joint exhibition stand.

In keeping with the exhibition’s motto ‘Built as one’, the vehicle represents a crucial stage in the transport cycle. After all, before raw materials can be processed, goods transported or recyclable materials recycled, the machinery and equipment must first reach their destination. The low-loader thus forms the foundation of many logistical processes and brings the often-invisible world of heavy-haul logistics into the spotlight.

The low-loader semi-trailer on display was designed for demanding applications in the construction, infrastructure and mechanical engineering sectors. Its extendable frame allows flexible adaptation to a wide variety of transport tasks, whilst the low-profile bed facilitates the safe transport of tall and heavy machinery. With a technically permissible gross vehicle weight of 39 tonnes and hydraulic independent suspension, the vehicle offers optimal conditions for demanding transport tasks.

Schwarzmüller placed particular emphasis on the combination of stability, flexibility and ease of operation. The hydraulic forced steering system facilitates precise manoeuvring, even on tight construction sites or along challenging access routes. At the same time, modern driver assistance and telematics systems ensure transparency and safety in day-to-day operations.

“Heavy haulage is often the first step in many value-added processes. Without the right transport solution, machinery, plant or construction equipment cannot reach the locations where they are needed. Our low-loader was developed precisely to meet these challenges and combines high functionality with maximum practicality,” explains Michael Eichinger, product expert at Schwarzmüller. The joint exhibition stand with the Krone Commercial Vehicle Group demonstrates how a wide variety of transport tasks interact within a closed cycle. Whilst other vehicles in the group transport raw materials, building materials, consumer goods or recyclable materials, the low-loader takes on the task of delivering the necessary machinery and plant to their place of use.
